Pekalongan city is a prosperous coastal city.It is a small city on the northen coast of central java.

Pekalongan city is considered as batik city, because it has many centers of batik industry and supporting industries. For example textile industry. Pekalongan batik has more attractive designs than other regions. The motifs of pekalongan batik such as batik Tiga Negeri,Dewa-Dewa,Primisan,and Garuda. There are two main areas in pekalongan city that produce batik:Kauman and Medono. And kauman is only "kampung batik"introduced by vice president Jusuf Kalla directly.
